Baxter W. Paige retired as Superintendent of the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation, Mentone, Indiana, effective June 30, 1992. Baxter served as Superintendent of that School Corporation for twelve years. Prior to that assignment, he served as Assistant Superintendent, Avon Community Schools, Avon, Indiana for one year; Principal, Avon Junior and Senior High School, Avon, Indiana for one year; Principal, Mitchell High School, Mitchell, Indiana for four years; Assistant Principal, Mitchell High School for two years; varsity football coach and social studies teacher, Clinton Prairie High School, Clinton Prairie School Corporation, Frankfort, Indiana for three years; varsity football coach and social studies teacher, North White High School, North White School Corporation, Monon, Indiana for four years; and varsity football coach and social studies teacher, Cannelton High School, Cannelton, Indiana for two years. He had twenty-three years of successful experience as a public school administrator in Indiana. Baxter has been an Active Member/Institutional Representative of IAPSS during his entire tenure as a superintendent of schools. He served on the IAPSS Federal Legislation Committee during the 1990-1991 membership year. Baxter received the IAPSS Ten Year Award in 1990. Preceeded in death by son, Gregory B. Paige. Survivors are his wife, Judith; daughter, Kimra Y. Eiser (Mark) of Mentone, Indiana; son, Keith B. Paige (Kelly) of Boonville, Indiana; sister, Wanda Norman (Phil) of Terre Haute, Indiana; brother, Jerry Lanzone (Judi) of Rosedale, Indiana; three grandchildren, Brittany Eiser, Dan Paige, Kristi Paige. In lieu of flowers memorials to Riviera United Methodist Church.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday August 4, 2010 at Riviera United Methodist Church 175 62nd Avenue North, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Another Memorial Service will be conducted at the Akron United Methodist Church in Akron, Indiana 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 8, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Akron United Methodist Church.
