Hemmerle, Kenneth V. Sr., of Boca Raton, FL, went home to our Lord on July 17, 2010. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 7, 1928 to Mary and Matthew Hemmerle. He moved to Titusville, Florida with his family in the 1940's. He later joined the U.S. Army Air Corp - serving his country in the Korean War. After serving in the military Ken moved to Fort Lauderdale and worked in his family's construction business. He married in the 1950's.
He is survived by his four children - daughters, Lynn Nadeau (Michael) of
Davie, Melanie Hemmerle of Boca Raton, and Susan Donnelly (Ernie) of
Plant City and son, Kenneth V. Hemmerle, II (Laura Morgan) of Boca
Raton, and grandsons, Justin Nadeau and Austin Nadeau of Davie and
granddaughter, Chrissy Capparelli of Dallas, Texas as well as many nieces
and nephews. He is survived by his youngest brother, Clayton (Sally) of
Fort Lauderdale, sister Joyce Sheridan of Merritt Island, Florida and sister,
Cherie Stephan (Fred) of Cocoa, Florida. Ken became a General
Contractor building and developing residential and commercial properties
throughout south Florida in the 1970's and 1980's. He had a passion for
flying airplanes and collecting cars. His family will truly miss him. He was
an inspiration to all of us. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Blessed
Sacrament Catholic Church, 1701 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Oakland Park, FL at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010. There will be a viewing before the mass at 9:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. A reception will follow the Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Cross Hospital, 4725 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL. 33308.
